It's "Hillbilly"... one word, and it's a reference to a country person, generally an uneducated one that lives out in the sticks, (or hills).

being from the south I find it entertaining to read what people have to say about rednecks and hill billies. But they don't know the half of it. iwould consider a hill billy to be someone wholoves barbeque and fireworks and jeff foxworth and larry the cable guy. The dad who brings a cooler full of beer to the t-ball games. Someone who sets a firework off in their hotel room and it circles around and sets the fire alarm off. Someone who has a beach towel that is the rebel flag and they wear it proud.. not as a race thing but as theold georgia flag and the flag of the south. someone who wears a camo larry the cable hat everyday. But people cant say **** about education because you cant drop out till you're sixteen in nc so dont go saying that hillbillies have third grade educations

people from the south dont be silly! the word and phrase say it all the term came from the blue ridge mountains which range from tennessee to virginia. the southern draw in their language makes them at fault:
their way of life makes them hill billy! living in the mountains, foot hill's and valleys is proof enough. their way of life is simple and carefree. what a way to live!!!!!!!!!

Hill billies are usually whites with red faces that live in the country in the middle of nowhere in a log cabin, they wear straw hats, have the WEIRDEST accent ever, carry shotguns, are very racist against nonwhites, have 10 dogs, and sit on the porch and spit in a bucket all day while chewing on a straw and berries.

Hillbilly is a term referring to people who dwell in remote, rural, mountainous areas. In particular the term refers to residents of Appalachia and later the Ozarks in the United States. Usage of the term "Hillbilly" generally differs from other terms referring to rural people in the United States in that it can be used for mountain dwelling people anywhere but is generally not used to refer to rural people in non-mountainous areas. While terms like redneck and cracker often connote rejection of, or resistance to, assimilation into the dominant culture, theoretically hillbillies are merely isolated from the dominant culture. Nevertheless, the term is sometimes considered derogatory depending on the context in which it is used or the attitude of the target
