we all like different kinds of music because we are different people, relating and going through different things.
Ex.
if u are in a happy mood=ur probably gonna listen 2 pop or hip-hop sumthin u can dance to.
if ur in a bad mood=listen to some rock or metal
if u like rap=listen to eminem or rap music
ect...
right now im in the mood 4 rock-but thats just me

Much of it is due to culture and what those around us listen to. And I would say that the rest has to do with personal taste.

I love God so I listen to Gospel Reggae Roots for his praise & exaltation.
