No, I'm not racist, no more than anyone else. I don't sit around and think about this my whole life. I have better things to do. These are just some questions I've been wondering about.

Great question! I find that usually that the blacks and asians are far more racist to us than we are to them. Political corectness is just being used to take advatage of the average hard working white american or canadian. Watch me look like a racist for saying this and get a million thumbs down.

Television:
Excluding BET, make a list of all the white actors you can think of on television. Now, list all the black actors. Which list is shorter? By how much?

Pride:
For a long time black people were made to feel sub-human because of their skin tone. After slavery this led to poverty, which almost always leads to low expectations for life and crime. By fostering well-deserved pride within the American Black community that community is able to look at heroes they relate to and allow this pride to bring courage to achieve a better life. Look at how far the Black community has come since slavery and the many many obstacles they have overcome because of the pride they have.

History:
President's Day is all white. So is most of your history book in school. What's the problem?

Scholarships:
The majority of colleges are predominantly white. Scholarships specifically set aside for minorities help to balance the scale that has been far too one sided for a very long time.

Because, in America, we are the majority. If we create a club and exclude other races, it is assumed it is because we are racist. It's an exclusion issue. There are less asians/blacks/etc in this country, so it's not considered racist.

I don't understand it, but that's the way it's been. The question is, will it change and will there ever be just a bunch of clubs for people without bringing up race and color?

You can, as a white, join other clubs. It's a celebration of history and ancestry more than excluding whites. It depends, though, on the rules of the club if you are allowed in.

you can be proud to be white just don't wear a white hood or hang black people while your doing it. Simple

the only time i learned about my culture in school was February, the shortest month of the year, people always forget that even though slavery ended hundreds of years ago, think about how many rights blacks had 40 years ago it hasnt been that long at all

all those holidays and months, I think are the governments wierd little way of saying sorry

I understand what you mean, I don't think you're racist at all. Your questions are legitimate thoughts and feelings that are felt by many, many people, not just yourself, so don't feel alone hun and I'm not a racist, nowhere near it!

My family's composed of a few different types of ethnicities and races and I don't have any problems with it, nor have I ever. I agree though, why is it that way?

In my opinion people call us racists for what has happend to them in the past. Well to their DISTANT relatives, ex: slavery. Ya it was wrong, but it hasn't been going on for a LONG time. And I agree, people close the world down for Martin Luther King Day, but what about presidents Day? Ya Martin Luther King did good things, I am not saying anything bad about him, but why not celebrate whites, and what they accomplish, race doesn't make one better than the other, people just need to get over what happend years ago, and live in a society as equals. It is America!

Get over it. Is that all you think about. I guess you are racist. I know many people White,Black, Hispanic Chinese you name it and when we get together we're never racist unless we are just kidding around but I don't take anything offensive. Are you that same girl on that my space account? Well just to let you know you and your little trying to make a point is getting old.
The US is filled with a lot of people with more than one nationality to even classify anyone as racist.

Not trying to sound mean but let me tell u y. Because you didn't have 2 fight for the rights that we as African American had to fight for. It was socially exceptable that whites could treat us as less than human and really it's not. I'm not saying that u r but at one point and time We have come a long way as a race. so this is why we celebrate the people who stood up for the rights that we have today like me telling my opinion to you. We celebrate the people that cared enough about us that they gave their life for us to have life. u can e-mail me with comments.

hey i agree completely and i am a proud Latina. I seriously think that it's because of history. you know the whites had slaves, whites took the land of the native americans. that kind of stuff. it's purely history. i can't judge a person just because of their race, u know.

Unfortunately, everyone is racist in some form or another. We just need to sit down, shut up, and realize we're all human, and get over ourselves.
