Me and my husband have been wanting to build a straw bale house for the energy efficiency reasons. How much would it cost to build one, Or how would I find out?

I used to have a subscription to "Mother Earth News" magazine, they had a good article about straw and rammed earth homes a few years ago, you might try referencing them. They also have a publications section in the back with LOTS of books and instructions for these types of projects.

basically a pole barn with the voids filled with bales,.... i heared you pin them with 1/4" rebar stakes, i've also hear they just put up tar paper & lath & stucco them.... i would check & see if your climate is suitable & there has to be some sort of nailers to replace the studs!
