i have seen so many couples who are together and one cheats on the other, and the other gets a PI to investigate etc etc etc
why bother? does anyone else agree that if you r unhappy JUST SAY SO and leave? why all the dramtics???? why hurt others more when you can just say goodbye to love and move on, and....why draw up papers to get this and that...just take your stuff (you KNOW what is yours) and save money and time from courts...Gawd it is so simple...yes there might be hate but be human and do the right thing!!!!! stop the bitterness, if you dont love him or her, end it, be honest, and get your stuff and GO

Well said......would it not be a much better world? It may be also that when people cheat....they intend for the other never to find out, just needing a little extra thrill....it's not right....but people do it all the time.

It seems so simple on paper but life in itself is not so. Humans are always looking for either a better way or an easier way in life. We think we should "have our cake and eat it too". To some "grass is greener on the other side, but want to test the water before jumping in". While others don't want to "make waves" or "rock the boat". Most cheaters will tell you, if honest, that no one understood them or they weren't getting it at home or since the kids came they are ignored. They never planned on leaving in the beginning or getting caught, the spouse mostly doesn't know what is going on until the cheater gets careless or the one they are cheating with wants more than the cheater is giving. The one being cheated on is almost always out for revenge on either/or the spouse or the lover. While some cheat from the beginning of the relationship others do so as a last ditch effort to hold on their marriage and fool around at the same time. If everyone walked away from the marriage/relationship before becoming involved with someone else the word cheater would become extinct from our vocabulary

Because some people do regret it, and some people are so unbelievably selfish that they want to try and keep both relationships.

I do agree with you, and I subscribe to the belief that cheating is the most selfish thing you can do in a relationship. will never come from someone who actually possesses the kind of love that is required to sustain a marriage.

The first answerer mentioned kids, but truthfully, if you cared about anyone else besides yourself, you would have not cheated in the first place.

Well, my hubby did this exact same thing. He cheated, cuz he wasnt "happy". well, i found out and now i aint happy, but we are trying to fix it. And heres what he had to say about his cheating. He wasnt happy for a good year before he crossed the line, he said he tried to tell me how bad it was, but i wasnt listening, he chose not to file for divorce cuz of the kids, and hoping we would get better, but in the mean time, he also chose to be weak and selfish. He actually told me he was kinda glad i found out when i did cuz he WAS getting ready to leave me. But i found out and told myself i was damned if i was gonna loose my husband to some skank whore just because i didnt want to be the wife he was desparatly needing. Since the affair, our marriage has been great, well, aside from me having 'moments'. It acutally made us both realize what we had standing in front of us the whole time. We are both attentive to each others physical, emotional and mental needs, where as before the affair, that attention was simply non existant. I never say cheating is the right way to do it, I still ask my husband why he couldnt hit me over the head and MAKE me realize how unhappy he was, he dont have an answer. He simply says that his mistake made him realize how much he really loves me and that he cant believe he almost lost everything he ever cared about cuz he was too selfish to come to me. Dont know if that answers your question, but its one persons persective on it.

because people get caught up in emotions. if you didn't feel for them, you shouldn't be together in the first place. and at least one is gonna be devastated when it doesn't work out. sometimes someone feels trapped, and a new person comes along that is like a way of sabotaging a bad relationship and almost like passing the blame. it's subconscious though, people just dont think things through

People like to screw people over so you need the courts for a better chance of getting your fair share. I don't believe in divorce except for adultery to many people split up families for stupid crap.
