I agree that if this is an excellent opportunity go for it but I would also recommend doing your homework about where you are going. Like for example housing and other living expenses. The reason is I was just in Russia and if you are considering Moscow a one room flat is 2500 a month.
Since you have health problems also make sure you are able to get health care there and if your insurance will pay for it. Good Luck. Russia is beautiful and I enjoyed it very much..

What do you mean, "not in the greaest of health"? If you have a potentially life threatning condition, which could not be treated there, I would suggest you stayed here. However, if you don't have other who depend on you, or if you know that the job in Russia is a secure one, I would totally go for it. You never know if you'll get another chance later on. By the way, I think Russians are really smart, so if you do suffer from a serious condition, I'm sure they'll have great doctors there who can help you.

Should give us more information, which part of Russia you will work?, what is the salary? Will you be alone or with family, friends? which job? Which type of life you like?
How bad is your health condition?
May be you should visit Russia first for a week, see the place, people and make the decision after the visit...
regards

I love going to Russia. I know a young woman who wants to immigrate to Russia from the US.
I am concerned about health though since you mention that you like to travel. To be on the safer side, why not consult a doctor.

This is your chance to travel to a different part of the world! Take the chance even if the job does not last forever, even if you need to come back in say, 6 months or a year due to health, at least you WENT and you had the experience.
I wouldn't hesitate, even if I knew it was only temporary.

Go for it. I have a friend of the same age, and he flies in and out with the company he works for. He said sometimes he can't work due to being snowed in. But he enjoys it.

It would be an incredible adventure. Unless you have major things holding you back (like family obligations), you should definitely go for it. You can always go back to the U.S. if it doesn't work out.
