hello....i ordered 3 party platters of sushi at noon yesterday (Saturday). only two were eaten at the party last night. i have one whole platter left and it's been refrigerated since i got it home. about 28 hours. is it still safe to eat? or due to fact that it's raw fish, do i need to discard it? Thanks!

sushi should be eaten in 2-3 days, or if the fish is discolored throw it away.

That would depend on what kind of sushi it is, of course. If you know it has raw fish, then like has been said, don't keep it more than 2 or 3 days. And definitely keep it refrigerated! But if it's all California Rolls, those are made with imitation crab meat, which is actually whitefish, and pre-cooked. You can keep that stuff in the fridge till the rice is too dried to eat! There's lots of sushi that's made with cooked fish, despite the common belief that it's all raw. If you got that platter from a super market, it's going to be cooked or smoked, no matter what anybody says. They aren't allowed to sell raw sushi. That can only come from a restaurant -usually a Japanese one with a licensed sushi-chef.

If in doubt...toss it. I wouldn't want to risk it.
