Not really what you meant by your question - but yes they hate change, no only in a grocery store, but also getting on a bus. Why do they never have their money ready and waiting to pay for things

I have taken care of elderly people both in their homes and in institutional settings. Not only do their bodies change externally as you can see, but they age internally as well, inclusive of their brains and their senses. Their reaction times slow as does the exchange of energy between the neurons in their brains. Activities which are simple for you are difficult for the very elderly. Adjusting to a technological society which changes at lightning speed becomes impossible for the very elderly who may be unable to deal with the complexities of credit or debit accounts. In that which is familiar to them, there is a certain sense of security for the elderly who can not cope, actually, with the changes in a society which has abandoned them to a great extent. And remember, you, too, will grow old one day, so try to have a little patience with those who are currently preceding you!

i'd be seventy in 3 months, no longer all youthful ones are stupid yet an exceedingly few want help looking that note. cell phones are tremendous and are necessary yet what isn't necessary is the texting numerous cases an afternoon. Dish washers, i'd like to have one. I see youthful ones and adults playing video games at the same time as family members sit down and communicate round them, why do they want them with others there? i'm distinct then rather some the human beings round me for i'm searching and liking the destiny. Now once you get to my age i ask your self what you'd be like, "Dang 'em whipper snappers!" As for race i'm from a mixed up family members, as for sex I want my personal determination.

maybe they're jsut afraid of letting go....Or maybe they feel that there is too much paperwork or travelling required to do stuff.... like them using a card will mean that they have to go to the bank and do all sorts of things. We make change to move on and progress in the world, they hold onto it because they fear for loosing past history.....

Because they would rather spend their time focusing on things that they enjoy rather than constantly learning new ways to do things that are already working for them.

The check payers tick me off too, but the problem there is that they were either too lazy or stupid to have the check filled out before they got to the front of the line.

They're not afraid of change. They just honestly cannot figure out how to use the cards or the machines.

They don't. In fact, they embrace change. Most old fogies who still have their marbles are smarter than youngsters (you will be an old fogie some day, too ) They understand that they are responsible for their acts, and control their behaviors, unlike many youngsters, who would have someone else assume that responsibulity.

Maybe because their memories are so bad that they can't
remember the password everytime they use the Debit Card.

I am 30's something and it is hard for me to remember
my password.
