I am wanting to buy a better battery for my Dell laptop so it lasts longer without being plugged in. If I buy a Refurbished: 56 WHr Lithium-Ion Additional battery for $56.95 is that a good deal? What will I actually be getting, and how long will it actually last without being connected to the AC adpater? Thanks for any help!

I would only buy a refurbished battery form Dell so that they warranty the battery. On most extended life batteries you get anywhere from 4-6 hours but it depends on how you use the noebook. LCD Brightness, High CPU Processing and other things reduce the amount of time you get out of the battery.

I believe your battery is a 6 cell.

I'd be wary of buying a refurbished battery - that means it died once already and had to be repaired. Who knows how long it will last the second time? I bought a refurbished Toshiba battery and it lasted about a week - total waste of money. You are better off spending a bit more to get a new battery with a warranty.
