The Yankees prove year after year that all they can do is choke. The Yankees who knew how to win are long gone. Yet ignorant Yankee fans continue to pick them. This year is a tough pink since the Cardinals wont repeat-they werent even the best team in their own division last year and the Cubs are better this year. The Redsox improved so i'll go with them. If the Mets get pitching they're capable of running away with the NL again. Redsox vs Mets will go 7 games

I am gonna make a very odd prediction but I would like to see the Braves and Red Sox in the World Series. Yea I doubt it will happen but never know. Its hard to tell just because spring training hasn't started and also you don't know how everything is gonna click with each organization. Hell the Cubbies could come out of no where and win the damn thing. Same way with the Blue Jays. I don't wanna see the Yanks go only because I am part of the RED SOX NATION!!!!! GO SOX

I'm going to be unbiased and use only 29 choices for my picks. I think the Cubs have a realistic chance this year, but because they are my team I'll pick five others.

Cardinals...won it last year. La Russa is very smart. I think the team on paper right now is not as good as it was last season. But even with Rolen and Edmonds having an oft-injured year last season, Pujols and Carpenter proved they could carry a team into and through October.

Red Sox....added Matsuzaka to an already stacked rotation. Beckett, Schilling, Matsuzaka, Papelbon, Lester, Piniero, Wakefield, and Matt Clement are all options in their loaded rotation. Whether the JD drew works out or not the lineup will d]still be stacked. Manny, Ortiz, and Drew are a very solid middle of the lineup and you would still have Wily Mo available on the bench.

Tigers....Verlander, Bonderman, Rodney, and flame throwing Joel Zumaya have some experience under their belts and are now a force to be reconed with in the American League. They upgraded the lineup with the addition of Gary Sheffield and they still have veteran Kenny Rogers heading the rotation.

Yankees- Veteran group. Outside of Wang and Igawa, a very veteran rotation. Bringing back Petite and trading Johnson were both great moves. Solid lineup, losing Sheffield shouldn't hurt too much...Matsui will be back hopefully for a full season and A-Rod could return to his MVP form

San Francisco- Longshot. Added Zito to a potentially good pitching staff. New manager....they've got a chance.

Out of these picks, i rank them like this...
1. Tigers
2. Cardinals
3. Yankees
4. Red Sox
5. Giants
and my 6 would be the Mets with the Dogers in 7th and the Angels in 8th.

activities Illustrated should be thanking the Phillies. because at the same time as the Phillies DO win the international sequence this season, SI's predictions will regain their credibility. (: and also, enable me merely say that I thoroughly loved observing the Mets' season bypass up in smoke very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. edit: sgt. Pepper has a level too.

Rangers, Buck Showalter was fired. Every time he is fired, the team wins the World Series the next year.

The Mets or Dodgers I think because they have youth and it is all about pitching in October and they have just as good chance as the Yanks and Red Sox

My prediction is that each team will play 162 games.

In other words, it is way too early to tell.
