ok i have two questions..what other name did the loyalists go by? i know the patriots were called 'yanks' but what were the loyalists? also, where did the patriots live in the 13 colonies?...and the loyalists?

oops sorry i looked it up and the patriots were called 'whigs' not 'yanks' lol

i believe they may have called the loyalists torries as well. The patriots were largely in the North and had the most protest to the taxes that were hurting the economy. The loyalists were largely in the South and liked the reliabitilty of being a colony because it guranteed them a market for their crops.

Torys, not Tories

Loyalist were eveywhere, but mostly in Boston and New York City. To a lesser extent, Charleston SC too.
They were driven out of Boston with the British army and eventually the same thing happened in New York City in 1782 and in the last battle of Lexington /Charleston that ended the war.

The Patriots were everywhere except in the highly concentrated loyalist populations as mentioned above.

Loyalists were also known as Tories.

They were obviously interspersed within the colonies. In fact, some of the early revolutionary leaders such as Ben Franklin were crown loyalists till toward the end, when the situation forced them to reevaluate and become separatists.
