I noticed the same here in Canada, gradual price increases. It isn't like I noticed it was happening to this degree going back several years. The stuff I noticed are as high as 25 to 50% price increases. Sure, not everything increased that much, but that makes me start watching closer.
Sometimes this follows gas price increases (last year) They can use the excuse that transportation costs were up. It usually isn't so much if increased costs are there, but if they can make you believe they have increased costs.
And it is going to get worse before it gets better. With the recent cold snaps destroying fruit and vegetable crops in California and the big news coverage about the expected increase in prices - those are 2 things that will lead this year's inflation.

Did you notice the cost of gasoline went up? The cost to transport food will increase the cost of your groceries.

We (my family) did notice it. My guess is that the continuing conflicts are driving up the costs of energy thus commodities.
The other is called Inflation. Too much money chasing too little goods and services.
