When our solar system first formed our sun was hotter than it is now the inner planets ...Mars, Earth, Venus, and Mercury were molten liquid which because of gravity formed into round liquid balls. As the sun cooled these planets formed crust on the outer layers which made the surfaces of these planets into their round shapes. And as for earth... large meteors have hit the earth breaking the crust into pieces which now move around on top of the liquid in the middle which causes the earhquakes we have
