I was just curious if thoughts and ideas in the head can be referred to as "mental writing?" That they are in the head and not down on paper or some other medium.

Well, I guess I should clarify that it is completed sentences and the like. Whole stories and such in my head, just not yet written down on paper or another medium. I don't know if I do plan on writing it down on paper or not at this point.

Yes, you can have mental writing, but.....when I have had it I have been writing poems and once I start I don't know where I am going and it flows rapidly and within a short period of time I am fininshed and read what I wrote and go Wow, amazing. When you have it you know it.

I don't think random thoughts can be considered as mental writing, in my opinion mental writing is when you frame sentences and paragraphs in your mind, as if you were putting them down on paper.
