Yes, two months is still a bit too early. I am a pediatric dietitian and we recommend not starting solids until 4-6 months of age. Your baby will tell you when he's ready to eat - he'll be able to sit up and be interested in food. At 4-6 months babies also lose that "extrusion reflex," which is when babies push food out of their mouth with their tongue. When that diminishes, it's time to start thinking about solids.

Yes, after milk, the first thing you feed your baby is the cereals starting with rice. Then around 4-6 months you can start withjuices, fruits and baby foods. Ask your doctor.

This depends on the baby. I started my son on solids at 3 months. At two months he was tracking us - watching us eat. I felt bad having him stare at me like that. Then, he started reaching for it. He was drinking 8 oz of milk every 4 hours. So, at 3 months my pedetrican said it was fine.

I started him with rice cereal in the morning. The side of the box talks about your baby's first feeding and how to give it. Gradually, when I knew he wasn't having a reaction I gave it at night with his bottle.

Eventually at 4/6 months I added another serving along with 1/2 jar of fruit/veggies. My ped said it doesn't matter the order of the veggies or if they have veggies or fruit first. It's what you give him. So, make sure you don't give him too much sweets (fruits). And, he has no problem eating any veggie or fruit. In fact, he prefers carrots and green beans above bananas!

Trust your gut - this is your baby and you know what's best!

Yes...but it just depends. Doctors say wait until at least 6 months, but I didn't with my two. As a mater of fact, I started both my boys on really thin rice cereal at just about 2 months. I nursed and they were just not sleeping at all. I nursed one every 45 minutes for 12 hours and said "Screw it...let's do rice." And he got full and I got to rest. I put about a tablespoon of rice cereal in a 4 oz bottle that I made the hole just a bit bigger in. I used my expressed milk and he was happy. It is a no-no, but my boys are 16 and 12 and healthy as can be. No food allergies either, except one to cow's milk and he already had that because he got sick when I drank milk. Good luck.

Wait until 6 months old AT LEAST!! In the old days people fed newborns food much sooner but now they know that this can damage their little intestines and create allergies.

Yes! Baby's intestines can not handle solides that early. I had to give my son bananas and rice cereal(very, very thin) at almost 4 months because of his reflux.

However it is not recomended to feed your child solids until they are 6 months of age.

When you do start with solids one of the most reccomended foods to start with is bananas. Don't bother starting rice cereal. It's just pure starch and starch is what makes people overweight. Do bananas, apples, squash, sweet potatos, and then move on to green veggies and other fruits.

Yes. It isn't recommended to feed solids prior to 6 months of age. Babies don't have the enzymes needed to digest anything other than breastmilk or formula prior to the middle of the first year. Starting solids too early also increases the risk of your child developing allegies, diabetes and obesity.

I think other than cereal (oatmeal is popular) I think two months is a little early. My son, Jim, was about five months old before I started feeding him baby food. You can let them gradually move up to toddler food and later to a more adult palate.
