Should be. My ex wife had a mouse in the house and I have cats. They were fine as long as you never took the mouse out in front of the cats and as long as you keep something heavy on the opening.

If your cat loves to eat or pounce on any small moving object, then probably yes. I would get the guinea pig and just leave them separated, have a cage and a room for your guinea pig(washing room, somewhere nice and sunny indoors) and try to not let the cat too close to the guinea pig. Hope that helps :) O

I would have to say no. Even though the guinea pigs in your room if the cat see's it even once she is going to know its there and want to find it again. If your cats that big of a hunter I wouldn't even think of getting a small animal, because once she knows the guinea pigs there she'll think its prey and she'll try and find a way into your room even if the doors closed

Well, Guinea Pig is going to be in the cage most of the time.. And Guinea Pigs arent that small too.. Just train your cat not to attack the Guinea Pig.. Most likely your cat won't be able to do anything..

It's still an iffy situation. Even though you'd be keeping the guinea pig in your room with the door shut, if a cat has the drive to get in, it'll get in! You're better off not getting one I'd say.

We had a whole menagerie of animals as we were growing up and even though our cat caught birds and mice and other small animals it knew not to eat our pet mice or even chase the chickens. We had rabbits and guinea pigs and our cat never paid any attention to them other than sniffing them when we first brought them home. I doubt you cat will attack your guinea pig if you decide to buy one.

Hell yes! Get a video camera and introduce the two. Before opening the cage, say something funny to the cat like, "Don't you dare eat Mr. Piggy like you ate my neighbors kid." Then watch as the fun ensues, post it on Break.com
I will be waiting.

You could get one but make sure that the cat is away from it and the cage should be closed really tight and at a place where your cat can't reach it. It should be safe. Good luck!!
