The test for downs syndrome and trisomy 18 were within range, but I have low estriol. He wants me to meet with a genetic counselor and have amnio if necessary to determine if there are any problems with the fetus. Has anyone else ever had a low level of estriol on their triple screen test, and if so what was the outcome? Thanks for any info, as you can imagine i am worried.

I never was pregnant but it says on wikipedia-
If levels are abnormally low in a pregnant woman, this may indicate a problem with the development in the child.

This happened to my neighbor and she had to wait two weeks after the amnio test results to come back and it was the longest two weeks of her life. Her baby turned out perfectly healthy so pray and try not to worry (I know this will be hard) everything may turn out fine. Good luck!
