I got my laptop not even one year ago. It was top of the line Toshiba, with a dual processer, and all that jazz... How long would you wait before purchasing Windows Vista? Will they put the system in stores, and then still try to work out the bugs? I like the idea of updating from XP to Vista, but I dont want to pay for something thats just going to jack up my computer. I ran the Vista upgrade manager and it came back with a lot of different things that might have problems, such as my HD Sound, and other fancy things... What would you do? I am almost to the point where I dont want to spend the cash, just to jack up my system...

I have also heard its going to use up more laptop battery... someone please tell me why I should buy Vista...

I would suggest getting hold of a copy of PC World. They are doing an article with the main PROS and CONS with Vista. The main concensus seems to be that the best way to get Vista is preinstalled in a new clean system. It is resource hungry and you may have to change many software apps or upgrade for Vista. Personally I would spend the money at this time on 'jacking up' your current system.

Windows Vista is a new guy in town.

It require min 1GB CPU, 512MB and 15GB HDD.

In order it to run aero flip, I will advice have min of 1GB RAM or more.

Yes, with new OS, you need a lot of new drivers and application to ensure it work fine.

Of course, Windows have a lot of new things in it which make it take more RAM and CPU, not to mention HDD.

But it make it easy for people that know nut about a PC to user it.

If you don't want to be the tester for the new OS, I will advice to wait. But you will miss out a lot of new things till then. :)

dont do it
i tryed vista beta program and it looked nice, but i was dissapointed on how slow it was, it requires enormus amounts of ram and a high tech viedo card, and yes that does meen it will use up your battery faster because it will be overworking your system
is windows xp to old for you?
