This is an interesting question. At this time when we are (or should be) very involved in open discussions with Muslim countries for them to deal with a female will not be a workable situation due to the cultures. We are in a similar situation now with Ms. Rice. Although we have attempted to force them to deal with her that has proven to be a dismal failure. If it were only the U.S. involved I don't think race or gender would make much difference to voters here.

It would piss of all the ignorant racists and sexists. But I think it would be refreshing to open a history book ten years from now, and flip to the back to see a woman or black man, to accompany all the old white men we've ever had as presidents.
