what makes her mean? Is she mean in general or just mean to you in particular?
Has she always been this way or is it possible that something has happened to her recently (sick mother, husband divorcing her etc.)
If she is mean to you, you should have your mother schedule a conference with her and see if there is problem that is specific to you.
She might not even realize that she is being mean she just might have high expectations for you and is angry that you are not living up to them.
(It is always sad to watch a gifted student do less than his or her best).
Once you know why she is mean it will help alot in finding a way to deal with her.
GOOD LUCK
(half the school year is over so you are in the easy stretch now!)

I am a teacher. Of course I think I am nice....however I am sure some of my students would disagree! I am a person who has a life with life struggles just like anyone else....but the identity gets lost somehow...students don't see their teachers as people.
I would suggest that you remain respectful (no matter how much it kills you!) do your best, and perhaps kiss butt a little if you are really having a hard time getting over it....a little card....we teachers deal with 20-30 kids EVERYDAY ALL DAY and then after being underappriciated, we go home to our families and cook their dinner and do their laundry and deal with thier problems...then go back to school the next day with students that do not treat you any differently.
Teachers do NOT make a lot of money....teachers do not teach because they will get rich...they teach because they are so sure they have something to offer....
I wish you well, I hope you can step out of the box a little and see your teacher from a different perspective.
My dad has saying....'YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN'

Ask her if you've done something to offend her and be apologetic, even if you haven't done anything, say something like, Have I offended you somehow if I have I'm very sorry I didn't mean too. If she is still being mean talk with your parents or the principle about it.

You just have to ignore that teacher, not to the point of getting in trouble. You have to remember some people are never happy and thee is nothing you can do about it.
Get your work done, pay attention in class and be the you can.
Best of Luck to you .
