I need to write a response to Sigmund Frued. I believe in dream interpretation, but I don't think everything stems from your parents. I also don't like the son loving the mother sexually thing. Any ideas or thoughts to help my argument?

I think Freud had many wonderful ideas. I also believe he was terribly obsessed with sex. He could have made great sense if he didn't think everything for EVERYONE stemmed back to sexual repression or parenting problems. For a few people, it probably did, but not everyone in the world. He suffered from tunnel vision, where he thought his theory was right to the exclusion of all else. Now, you have to know there are many types of dream interpretations, like Jungian and Gestalt along with Freudian.

Almost all of Frued's theories have been found to have no scientific basis, but he still came up with a lot of ground breaking ideas, like the notion of a subconscious mind so you can't ignore his contribution to the field, plus he was very open about talking about sex which was needed in that time

Well freud use to be a big cocaine addict and loved it, you can look at a book that applies the bible to dream interpretation, (understanding the dreams you dream by Ira Milligan) unless you are not religious.

well are you for or against him, if against there are 5 other theories of psychology and you could use those to argue against.
