I'm doing homework and I need to write down some opinions. They have to be good opinions. things that we could have an argument over in class. i know what an opinion is. I dont need stupid ones.

Well, since you didn't leave a any topics I will give you a few broad opinions on various topics that you could debate about in class:
I think cell phones should be banned in classrooms because with text messaging it makes it really easy for people to cheat
I think MP3 players and iPods should be allowed in class because I think they let students concentrate on their own work and prevent them from causing trouble with other students as long as the volume isnt too loud that it distracts others.
I believe that schools need new books in schools to teach, especially in English class, because they are all really old and we do not relate to them anymore and I don't think we need to know how to read Shakespeare
Drinking at school functions should be cause for suspension or expulsion
I think the drinking age for teenagers should be lowered to 18 because that is when we are considered to be adults
I think students should have to get a highschool diploma before they can get their drivers license because they are not responsible enough at 16.

A common debate you can have is whether or not marijuana should be legalized or not.
You could weigh the pros and cons.
Example of a pro: It could be used for medicinal purposes. Example of a con: Marijuana use could get out of control quickly.
You could also gather opinons about it as well - if you don't do a debate.
Another really good subject matter - with modern ties - would be should we have a woman president or not.
This would be an excellent thing to gather opinons on. You could also use this to gather what people think on current events. (The war on terror, the war with Iraq...)
