Clothing is very very expensive down there, and so are shoes....like designer athletic shoes, or even jackets.

Don't take food.

Have they asked for anything?

We have family in Mexico, and bring them clothing, art supplies, cookware, home appliances.

Money is always a winner with kids down there too.

What about you introduce your culture to them starting with a nice book full of pictures from all the USA? Toys are not so important, give them something that they will always remember you for.
