I've tried automatic writing, but it seems sort of inconsistent. Anybody have any experiences for or against it? Do you think it is simply your own mind?

Automatic writing works to get you actually writing something. In the best case, this writing will kick your mind into gear so that you can then easily begin writing about something really important to you.

Yes, I think its your own mind - but as such, I think its a good meditative practice for getting in touch with the feelings/beliefs you might have buried away.
