The 16Th amendment ratified in 1913. Many people try to not pay taxes using the reason the this president was born in OHIO when it was a territory not a state and therefore in not eligible to be president and therefore any laws that he signed are non and void but that is ridicules and any person who has tried to not pay income tax using this reason ends up in trouble. Also scams that state that only income earned overseas is taxable also get people into trouble like actor Wesley Snipes

You don't have to pay income tax if you don't have any income and not only that, there are lots of ways to have income that can't be proven to the government, like cash. Anyway, I don't know the answer to your question. It makes a person wonder if it is all worth it and if the government isn't giving us the once over if you know what I mean.

The sixteenth amendment to the Constitution gives the Federal government the authority to collect an income tax.
"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration."
Congress has used this power to pass laws regarding the collection of income taxes, the creation of an executive agency to oversee the collection of income taxes (IRS), and create penalties for those who do not pay income taxes.

The XVI Amendment authorized the income tax. Congress sets the specific laws and the laws are enforced by the Executive branch of the government.

Law? How about the 16th ammendment to the Constitution?
Now I'll ask you this:
Where is the law that says the government can't collect income tax?

There is none. Don't pay it. Grow a back bone.
If there is no law, you can't get in trouble.
