If you have a virus & are not a computer geek, you should take it to a computer specialist.

Are you trying to restore the computer because

A. your antivirus program found a virus?
B. Or because you feel a virus did some damage that is causing major system problems?

If the answer is (A), it's kind of pointless to restore your system if there are no virus related problems.

if the answer is (B) and you still want to restore it back to factory settings you'll either need a full version of Windows XP and all of the software drivers or you'll need to contact the manufacturer for a restore disk.

In any case it's better if you take the computer to a service center.

If your computer doesn't "turn on" it may be your power supply or motherboard. If it POSTS (gives you a black screen with white numbers) it could be your hard drive. Write back with as many details as possible and I will walk you through it.
