Did the author ever finish the manga or is it still on-going? I haven't read Inuyasha in a long, long, long time so I really need some catching up to do.

The manga of Inuyasha is still on-going but the anime has finished.

There is an article in Jan. edition of Anime Insider. It states that the manga chapters are expected to conclude early this year.
pg. 57 of that issue.

the lady who writes it is still writng. i have heard 2 various reports on the anime series.1)the anime tv series has aired the last episode
2)that due to popularity, they are talking about adding more.especially since the books are still being written

okay first of all its a lady that wrote it and she's not dead. the anime is done but the manga is still coming.
