I understand what you are going through.
When I was pregnant, I became afraid of the dark. I always liked to have a light on in the house so if I had to get up during the night I could see.
Also when I was pregnant I couldn't watch scary movies and I love scary movies.
Things change when your pregnant.
There is nothing wrong with you. You might just have to wait until after you have the baby to get back to your usual self.
Just try putting a night light on or a light in another room.

Pregnancy can make you feel vulnerable. Even now as an adult and not being pregnant, I feel a little nervous or afraid if I'm at home alone during the night. It feels lonely and sometimes scary. I put the tv on or a fan to make noise so I can't hear any noises while I'm sleeping.

I have never really liked the dark, but when I got pregnant, the fear came back too, and my son is 10 months old and I"m still afraid of the dark. I feel like a wimp and it drives me nuts but I turn on every light between my bedroom and the bathroom if I have to get up in the middle of the night.

You're hormones are high, so your emotions are high. This is just the way that the stress of your emotions is coming out. Some women have really bad mood swings, your mind has obviously just brought back something from before that used to stress you out and scare you. Just try to get ahold of yourself and relax. If you need a nightlight or something, so be it. It may seem like a silly thing to do, being older and knowing that you're going to be a mommy, but whatever it takes to get your mind and your body to relax, that's what you need to do, because the stress is not good for you or baby either.

When I was pregnant, i was always scared of someone breaking in. It is totally normal. Hang in there, things will go back to normal after your baby is here.
