fly into Krakow with centralwings, i got a return flight for just over £30 last November.
don't do the Auschwitz arranged tour as its too rushed. its quite easy to do it yourself.
you should also visit the salt mines near Krakow!
you'll find centralwings on the net, all the www's.

forget what arwen said. poland is beautiful, the people friendly, its cheap and surprisingly, the food is very good!

You can get cheap flights to Krakow (which is the closest main city to Auschwitz). You could also find accommodation via the web on sites such as lastminute.com; expedia; hostelworld. Krakow is a great city and it's very cheap! Auschwitz was an incredible experience that I personally think everyone should do. You just can't put it into words.

Easyjet from Luton was £40, just walk round and you will get cheap digs, local bus is 50p to Auschwitz, takes about 2 hrs, you can walk round on your own. A truly humbling experience, but well worth it.
