Definitely. By praying, you are not only asking for guidance, but you are meditating on the situation. You are calming yourself-- seeing with your intelligence, instead of letting your lusts and desires run your life.
We are pretty powerless to prevent temptation from bothering us--- our minds and bodies are so prone to it. But if instead of immediately acting, we slow ourselves down by prayer and meditation, we can see the long-term effects of yielding to the temptations and therefore resist the urges of our lower nature.

I think so.

I think that also if you are thinking about doing something you know is wrong, taking a moment to meditate and take some deep breaths is helpful in overcoming temptation.

So, in my opinion, prayer works in two ways.

Yes, for sure

Life is full of temptations. To do what we know is good gets more difficult each day that pass. Furthermore, just a lot of people don't care at all what they are doing and how their actions can damage others. We need God for helping us to do what is right; and praying, asking for strength, is a way of telling Him you believe in Him and trusts that He got enough power to help you.

I like your question.

People pray to give hope. Praying will give you hope to overcome your temptations, which, in turn, may lead you to give them up. Research Buddhism. You might be surprised how eliminating desires will lead to a better life. You don't have to practice other religions, but gaining knowledge and learning the values of them can never harm you.

Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. Just meditate on God's word whenever you feel the urge.

I think so.

Chritianity teaches that the spirit of God can live in you when you are a Christian. We may not be stong enough to withstand these temptations, but God is. And he can help us through it.

if u believe in it yes. if not then no.
i think love overcomes temptation.
if you loved yourself , you wouldn't put yourself into situations where you can be easily tempted.
or if you were in that situation already , you'd have more self control because you love yourself to much to succumb.
