Thank her. . and politely turn the offer down saying that you are interested in getting the job on your own knowledge. As you want to promote the companies integrity and goal to only hire those best qualified even if it is not you. . .

If you think she is really going to help, forget the beer after work. Try for lunch during work week. The time is then limited to 1 hour.
I'm not sure why there would be ramifications. But if you don't take her up on it, what are you saying?

I don't know the complete relationship between you and your manager (if you've gone out outside of work). All I can say is 'do NOT order alcohol'. Order an ice tea or soda. If it's a manager that you do not completely trust, that person could be watching your alcohol intake. If you do order an alcoholic drink...drink at the same pace or SLOWER than she his.

I think she is testing you. Is she gay? or bi? If you have the qualifications you should be able to get this on your own merit. I think something is fishy here ...Step back and just use your own judgement. Sounds like she is looking for a good looking woman for herself. And if thats the case look for another job. Meeting for a beer or more beers will get her in the mood for getting you where she wants you. ..this is just my take.

Accept her offer. It sounds as though she thinks you are worthy of the promotion. Keep it on a work basis though, don't let her seduce you!

If you have known her for that long of a time, I dont think she is trying to do anything detrimental to you. Accept and see how it goes. If things get weird leave.

I think she digs you and wants to do a little coaching between the sheets. If she has influence enough to get you the job and isn't ugly, this could be a double win for you.

I seldom offer that kind of assistance to staff members I want to keep. Maybe there's a reason she wants you to move on.

Her intentions might be honorable, but she also sounds like she's selling herself. Do you have to accept this "coaching"?
Get alot of opinions and make your decision on that - best of luck!!:)
