Monkfish (aka anger fish, Lophus piscatorius) mature at around two ft long but will grow another foot or more if given the chance.

So, no... as far as fitting one into the friar, abbott you wouldn't stand a prayer of doing so!

You can slip in organic periwinkles and cockles en mass, but putting a well proportioned tasty monkfish that cloister fortune in a fat friar is a cardinal sin - better to save it for an upright canon with a good range and a back burner.

You are really precious, you made me laugh out loud .
If you are soooo lucky to catch a really big fish , cut the unhappy fellow up if it does not fit in the friar . Mine are always too small . You gotta find 'em with a magnifying glass .
If you can't eat it all , let us know !

monk fish can grow to size of an arm and depending on how hungry the friar is actually ask the friar how hungry he is and you'll know. Sorry on making fun of your word choice.

They're the size of a labrador dog, so not in the frier, unless you're using an industrial (restaurant/school) size. Ugly as sin (see below), but the tail is considered a delicacy. I saw Julia Child cook one of these critters once.

depends on their feeding habits..and you would need a chipmonk to make french fries to go with it!
