I wish I could forget a year or so.

Or maybe just go back in time and do things over, only do them right this time.

Yes - especially when you finally get out of bed and you know for sure that it wasn't a dream and that nothing will be the same again and it's all awful and you feel so low that you may as well be in the gutter.
And there's nothing to make it any better so you just have to keep going until you find normality again (whatever that is)...only everything is wrong and out of place and you just can't get back to where you were before.
So you eventually realise that you are living with the consequences of the event and that you cannot wipe it out or forget it or go on as if it hadn't happened.
And then you can only wait for time to do it's magic thing .....it won't put back any broken pieces but the memory becomes more and more distant, you think it won't - but it does.

Yes today! Last night I went out and decided to start drinking in the early afternoon. I left my friends at 5pm with the intention of going home early. I then decided to go for a couple as I waited for the bus to arrive and as i was talking on my mobile to another friend I thought it would be ok to have another....and another....and another and before you know it I'd been in the pub on my own for over 2 hours drinking on my own. I am only 23 not some lonely old man! I dont know why i did it but when i got home I fell asleep and have spent all of this morning being sick and trying to forget my said act of drinking on my own!

Of course, there are many things that I regret in life but sometimes those things only make me stronger and better. There are many people that I wish I dealt with and predicaments that I wish I never put myself in but what is most important is not the mistake but what you learn from it.

it makes no sense to dwell on the night before. it is over with, you can not change it, so if it was a mistake ,then learn from your mistake and move on.constantly strive to improve yourself day by day, we are to learn from our past and then work toward the future and if we looked forward to the next daythen we can stive not to repeat the same dumb mistakes from the day before. robert d
