My mother. She's Irish-American, and technically so am I but I don't look Irish.
There are two kinds I think of--my mother's type of Irish, who came way after the Famine and didn't settle in the Northeast, and the Famine Irish of the Northeast. Different people with different ways of doing almost everything. The Irish in CT are so different from TN Irish! Then again, it's probably because the ones in CT are from other parts of Ireland than those in TN.

Actually no. I'm an Irish-Canadian. First generation, my father emigrated from Ireland. I think of myself as Canadian, though I enjoy my Irish heritage.
