My mistake. I was looking at the Netherlands YA and posted from this window inadvertantly. I am taking a cruise from Athens to Venice, and after a few days flying to Amsterdam for a week. Still, since its here, I would love to get a Dutch perspective on what to see in Venice!

1. St. Mark's Square - and get a coffee and sit and watch the people ...
2. Murano - the island where they make glass; there is a pleasant boat ride
3. The view from a gondola, that is to say, take a ride! . . in . either a real one with a real gondolier ... or one of the vaporetti, the ones powered by motor ... which will take you on a tour of the canals and the grand palaces built right on the canal...
4. the art in the churches - choose two or three...by the fame of the artist or sculptor, and walking on the way you cross over bridges like the Ponte Vecchio and pass various other sites of ancient fame, maybe even the opera house, La Fenice, where Bellini's opera, "La Sonnambula" was first produced...
5 The view from the Campanile in St. Mark's Square ...
