Fantastic question and one which I could spend ages thinking about. Quickish answer for now. Sarah White (Bev McLaughlin-Dixon, Brookside) because she looks a bit like me, and I'm from Liverpool. The actress who played Suzi Burchall in Coronation Street (20+ years ago) because her character demonstrated an extreme exaggeration of all my faults on a bad day. Keira Knightley because I'm very nice really and seem very English, and a more down-to-earth characterisation of her Elizabeth Bennett would be acceptable.

I used to think Alfred Molina would have been me, but now I reckon it'd be Mark "crackajackatracker" Benton - he seems to specialise in playing faintly odious, depressing characters, from the irritating mortgage-lender int he Nationwide ads to Johnny Tyler (the guy sad enough to be possessed by the Devil against Christopher Ecclestone's "Christ" in The Second Coming, to Clive, the internet conspiracy theorist in the first episode of the new Doctor Who (also up against Ecclestone).
