i happen to like all of the bands that you happen to like (but i have a very wide taste in music so you might not like some of the bands) there are many different genres in my list

so check these bands out:
Drop Dead, Gorgeous
Dr. Acula
Norma Jean
Scarlet signature (they are a local band (well for me) you can find them on myspace)
Gym Class Heroes
Hit the Lights
Ima Robot
Kill Hannah
Less than Jake
Mindless Self Indulgence
Morning Wood
No Use for a Name
Phase9 (also a local band but search for them on myspace either with the number nine or spelling it out)
Pre-School Tea Party Massacre
Rise Against
Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Silverstein (idk if i spelled that right)
Three Days Grace
Throwdown

Many others if you like some of these message me or something and i can give you more.

I say that they can do whatever they want. Music goes through trends, and emo/indie is the trend right now. There are some who actually love the music, but then there are some that are posers. They have made it so that the image is the music, and I don't like that aspect of it. Example: I dress relatively "scene", if that's what you want to call it, because I like those styles of clothes, even though it mainly consists of skaeboard brands that I buy at Zumiez. But anyways, the point is that I get called emo a lot. This is proof of the problem with the scene image. I do like a lot of indie/scene/hardcore bands, but I listen to punk music WAY more than those bands. But people don't look at that, they just look at the image. So personally, I don't mind the subgenreing of the music itself. It's when people confuse the music with the image that I get annoyed.

I wouldnt be so close minded about it if I was you, just sticking to one area or genre, but thats your decision. AFI is my favorite band and I also wouldnt say they are a band for "scene kids" whatever that really means.
IF you're up for anything new...

Elliot Smith
Program the Dead

Why don't you go listen to some of AFI's older music, its a start. Scene kid, geez you just admitted that you follow the trend and have no real definition.

Please don't call yourself a "scenekid" or any other label. You just come off as a poseur. Those who label themselves are never taken seriously and are looked down apon.

Good on you for liking AFI. Just don't call them "scene" or "em*" or any other sh*tty labels that they're not.
