i have a regular DS
whenever i try to use my freinds DS Lite the touch screen doesnt work well

Since you have a regular DS,stick with it until it breaks,then get a DS lite,you said your friend's DS lite touch screen doen't work well,I heard some of them have defects and stuck pixels,but,you can always bring it back and get a perfect one.Get a warranty,in case it have too many defects.

DS Lite, it's brighter and the screen is scratch resistant, that's why it takes a little more effort to use.
