I see the 2007 World Series being a rematch of the 1907 World Series between the Detroit Tigers and the Chicago Cubs and I see the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series and their first World Series in 99 Years.

I'm going to be unbiased and use only 29 choices for my picks. I think the Cubs have a realistic chance this year, but because they are my team I'll pick five others.

Cardinals...won it last year. La Russa is very smart. I think the team on paper right now is not as good as it was last season. But even with Rolen and Edmonds having an oft-injured year last season, Pujols and Carpenter proved they could carry a team into and through October.

Red Sox....added Matsuzaka to an already stacked rotation. Beckett, Schilling, Matsuzaka, Papelbon, Lester, Piniero, Wakefield, and Matt Clement are all options in their loaded rotation. Whether the JD drew works out or not the lineup will d]still be stacked. Manny, Ortiz, and Drew are a very solid middle of the lineup and you would still have Wily Mo available on the bench.

Tigers....Verlander, Bonderman, Rodney, and flame throwing Joel Zumaya have some experience under their belts and are now a force to be reconed with in the American League. They upgraded the lineup with the addition of Gary Sheffield and they still have veteran Kenny Rogers heading the rotation.

Yankees- Veteran group. Outside of Wang and Igawa, a very veteran rotation. Bringing back Petite and trading Johnson were both great moves. Solid lineup, losing Sheffield shouldn't hurt too much...Matsui will be back hopefully for a full season and A-Rod could return to his MVP form

San Francisco- Longshot. Added Zito to a potentially good pitching staff. New manager....they've got a chance.

Out of these picks, i rank them like this...
1. Tigers
2. Cardinals
3. Yankees
4. Red Sox
5. Giants
and my 6 would be the Mets with the Dogers in 7th and the Angels in 8th.

no there is no way that the 07' Red Sox are better then the World Series winning 2004 Red Sox. i mean yeah you probly have better offense then the 04' Sox, but i will surprise you and say they had much better ptiching and defense in 04'. in 04' you had a much better Curt Schilling and a dominate Pedro. yes you may have Dice-K right know but he hasnt proven himself in a really importnat game and he may crumble under presure. im giving the Sox a 1% chance to win the World Series this year just because of how strong the American League is this year and because they lack the big game pitching that the 04' Red Sox had.

The Tigers just had the comeback of the century. They will no doubt be at least top four I'm even betting number one.

Oh by the way who every said yankees, including that persion at the top, stop. The Yankees are wayyyy overrated.

I agree with GP it's way too early to answer that question. Theres too many games to go and anything can happen. I guess you're putting the Cubbies there because of the moves they made this off-season but theres too many questions regarding their pitching to predict anything. Detroit faces a tough schedule and division so you never know.

It is way to early to be talking about the WS when spring training hasn't even started yet.

A 162 game schedule can change every day, its not like football where teams only play 16 games a season.

It's too early to tell.

A lot of things can happen in a 162 game schedule.
That's why they play the games.

Its too early to decide who's going to win. There's still time for teams to add more players. The roster for the 30 teams has not been set in stone for opening season.
