once you determine the shape, you have to see if it is symmetrical, or if all of the holes are filled. if it's symmetrical and/or all the holes are filled, it is non-polar. if it's asymmetrical and/or 1 or more holes aren't filled, it's polar. good luck!

Subtract the electronegativities of the bonds. If the bonds are polar, the molecule is polar
