I wouldn't say stupid, but more like delusional. They want to be like any piece of crap they see on TV.

It's not so much that teenagers are stupid, it's more a case of their being flooded with a host of new experiences and sensations that take some getting used to.

The hormones that prompt the changes that prepare the body to create the next generation have tremendous effects on the mind, as well.

It's during the teen years that the "good vs bad" dichotomy that serves pre-teens so well begins to get blurry. Ask a child whether it's all right to steal a loaf of bread to feed a starving family, and the child will probably say that it's wrong to steal. Ask an adolescent and the answer will be more complex and nuanced.

Teenagers are also in the process of becoming people. They test boundaries and identities with rebellious behavior and strange fashion choices.

It's a tough time to go through for teenagers and parents and teachers.

????? Not much of a question. More like a "my child did something stupid so I'm going to be cynical about it". Teenagers aren't all stupid any more than adults are all stupid. Some people are just idiots and others are extremely intelligent.

If you mean irresponsible, not all teenagers are that either, but in general the ones who are are testing boundaries and establishing independence and a sense of self.

Why are teenagers stupid? Because people like you tell us we are. How can anyone act intelligently, make changes in the world or have high enough self-esteem to make a difference, when people are calling one stupid?? Often we have great ideas and know so much - but we don't know how to show it, cause we've been told we're basically useless in humanity.

So r u callin' me stupid?? We're not stupid just young and we don't much, but common sense.

Me? I'm more book smart than street smart, but that doesn't mean I'm stupid!

Adults today r SO judgemental. They check out a teenager browsing through the store and they think they're gonna steal somethin'. They see a teenage girl wit tight pants or a short skirt on, they automatically think she's a ho'. If they see a teenage boy wit baggy pants on, they think he's in a gang or sellin' drugs.

Now, tell me who sounds stupid??

Why are you generalizing the world's teens? SOME teenagers are stupid, like some adults are.

It's a time human beings their limitations and start making judgments on their own........they see society with fresh eyes and seek to try new things..........the 50's kids brought us rock n roll......the 1920's saw an new urbanized youth from a rural nation assert themselves.....the 1990's saw the grandchildren of blacks from the Civil Rights era assert themselves in society......

if human do not try new things we do not progress......look at the popularity of extreme sports new.........who took to computer and the Internet first........?

trying something and failing does not make your stupid....its learning and testing the limitation.......some will die going to the limits....the feedback passed back set the limitation for the generation to live by

that why older generations say...i would never try that......now grandma does email.....grandpa watches extreme sports now.....those crazy teenagers change society

Depends on the teenager. Age has nothing to do with intelligence. Although I come from a culture that respects age and elders, I don't necessarily believe someone is inherently wiser because they're older. In fact, I've met some idiotic older people who don't deserve consideration of any sort.

teenagers lack experiance and are in the state of growing up physically and mentally. This is the point in their life to experiance, and when its their first time doing anything and if they fail, they are considered stupid because they lack experiance and intelligence.

they may also do things out of emotion like anger and may not know how to control it,blame this on their hormones.

I don`t believe that teenagers are stupid as such but they have not lived long enough to have wisdom which is far beyond mere intelligence.

Because they are immature and are just getting to the point where they can do some things and make some decisions on their own. And this makes them think they're "invincable", which makes them seem stupid and naive to the rest of us. And yes, it does seem that they dumber & dumber as we get older & older.
