The Xeon processors generally use socket LGA 771, which is a server/workstation socket. To use one you have to buy a server/workstation motherboard which is more expensive than a regular desktop motherboard, and is unnecessary for a regular home user. The only Xeons that use LGA 775, which is the desktop socket, are the 3000 series, and they are nothing more than rebadged Core 2 Duos, so no reason to spend extra on one.
