Well Route 66 has been broken up and the Mississippi is one solid line. I vote for the River. Route 66 starts at the River, but doesn't run South but West.

Mississippi River
Route 66 is no more. I-40 replaced it some years ago and the original highway, which begins in San Bernardino, Cal, end somehere in the Mid West but far short of Chicago. I think that'sa right. I haven't driven the entire road since 1969.

What a large number Lemme sparkling it up a splash Your 40 8 state sequence is misguided: attempt doing it E to W in a greek key development and then W to E interior an identical development Use I-70 as base line Even in it particularly is heyday Rt sixty six became a mediocre highway , right this moment little or no of it exits : in case you elect to do the terrific stretch the Seligman to Needles is it circulate away this open i will nibble away at it for the subsequent couple of days

If you have Google Earth, it could help. But I think it is the Mississippi River.

Great question. They are very close. The sources for Route 66 say "about 2400" miles. Ol' Miss is about 2350 miles.
