Yes best bet would be to take them back to lowe's.Buy some new one's in early spring. You can keep them but don't plant them.If you have garage space put them in there, water damp not soggy.Plant them as soon after last freeze.I'd take back.

If you have a place to keep the roses where it's cold, but not freezing, they will last a long time. When the last frost has passed in your area, plant them in a sunny spot. If it gets REALLY hot in your area, you might want to plant them on the east side of your home, so that they don't get the late afternoon sun AND heat.

here in east tn., if you don't intend to plant them in a really sunny place indoors,( for about 2 more mos.) i'd take them back. although, if we get another warm spell like we normally do, you could plant them, and mulch them. they should do ok, even if tops get bit, they'll still come out strong when the heat hits.

The roses from the big box stores are not the best.
You would do better to go to a quality nursery when it starts to warm up and they will give you planting help.
I found www.traderoutesnw.com to buy my trellis and arbors.

After the Forsythia or Azaleas bloom. If you don't know what Forsythia is, they are bushes with yellow flowers that bloom first, then they turn green. For now, keep them out of the cold and water, but don't fertilize them.
