It used to take 20 minutes but now we installed one of those instanteous continuous hot water heaters and we never run out!
I now can have my long hot showers without catching hell from the household!

I never run out.. I got tired of that, so I installed a water on demand unit. No tank just a small unite that only heats water as you use it. I strongly recommend one as I can take a 3 hour shower, if I wanted too..*

Depends on the size of the tank on the water heater, and how new the unit is.
I need to replace mine, but it recharges in less than 30 minutes.

depends on if everyone in the apartment building is showering at the same time. It's usually pretty quick.
