I think it needs to be instrumental because words are often distracting if you are showing off products. Have you listened to Tomita - he's got some excellent work which would go with pretty much all the items you mentioned.

Well, I was walking through a store and they were selling a cd player. When I heard the music they were playing I stopped dead in my tracks and really looked at what they were selling. Paul Taylor's album- Nightlife was playing. It was relaxing yet intriguing. It put me in a good mood and made me want to linger there a little longer. Sorry to say the cd player was too expensive but I did walk out with Paul Taylor's cd tucked safely in my shopping bag. I hope my experience as a consumer helps.

Strange idea maybe. Have you tried the closest university that has a music program? Put advert up asking for original entries and whoever you like best gets to have their music out there with maybe a one line credit? You could even advertise in local Friday ad to send cd in? Original and free!

i would recommend some good melodic Trance music, classical like.
for example
Puma White - Copenhagen (Original Mix)
Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk (Mike's Broken Record Mix)

both tunes are instrumental (no vocals) and have a larger part played on piano - very nice.

The Ziggens- Surfin' Buena Park. I don't even think it has words at all. That's usually the best for advertisements, because words can be distracting sometimes.

How about something classical - people like classical music and a lot of it is out of copy right so you are not breaking the law by using it.
