Have you only just listened to a song that came out years ago?. It's a lovely song, "Ebony & Ivory, live together in perfect harmony, side by side on my piano, keyboard oh lord why dont we".....etc.....
Now what is racist about that?. All he is singing is that we should all get along, like the ebony and ivory keys on a piano.

When someone uses words that express respect and care for others with a tone that can not mean anything else, there is no intent to be racist. Yet the observer or the listener may be racist. Even the subject may imply racism. This is as much an ethics question as it is an obvious question about Paul McCartney's reputation. It requires a strong positive image to express a song like this one. Think about what is needed to express an excellent song like this. I really enjoyed your question. Thanks, Mike

You mean the song that Paul McCartney wrote and performed with a black man? The song that goes "ebony and ivory, live together in perfect harmony?" The song about equality between the races?

That racist prick.

No he is not, Is Stevie Wonder racist for singing it with him? Why is it you could take such a beautiful song about people wanting others to live in harmony and turn it into a racist song.My God will you just listen to the radio blacks are putting down whites in every song and nothing is said about racism.I think ignorant people need to learn the only people holding them down is their hatred over things that happened long before any of us were even born.Give it a rest will you please!

have you ever read the lyrics?? that is one of those songs with deeper meaning in the music on top of that. for instance, whenever he sings "ebony" the tune is played on the black keys, and whenever the lyrics are "ivory" the notes are on the white keys of the keyboard. Its actually a song about racial harmony..a little research goes a long way, my friend.

Wasn't that a duet with Stevie Wonder about how people of different races can work together? I think it is supposed to be an anti-racism song!
