my friends and i are starting a band and we can't seem to find a place to get promoted. we have looked everywhere and can;t find a website that will help us. any suggestions and reccomendations will be very helpful. also, we are looking for a place to get gig's in Houston, Texas. please help!!

Promote your band by making an artist page on myspace.
As far as gigs, go to a local club or bar and see if there is an "open mic" night. Send in a promo pack (sample of music, letter, pictures) to many different restraunts, bars, and clubs. Just get your name out there! Hang up posters and flyers around your city. Ask your local record store to help you out in any way they can (hang up your flyers, etc)

those are the wonderful places to sell a band. My acquaintances are in a band and those are the wonderful approaches to sell different than be attentive to mouth. Recruit human beings to speak approximately your band and placed up movies etc on there facebook wall. If human beings like it your band will quickly return and forth all for the duration of the facebook international like a sequence letter! stable good fortune(:

set up your bands profile on myspace and post some of your songs so people can know what your about and stuff include the bands bio.

you can also set up a profile on purevolume.com there you can add your music and all that stuff.
