This is a good question. To be honest, as someone living in the UK it is hard to be able to say for sure. Americans can sometimes surprise you when it comes to voting. I remember sharing a beer with a friend who is a native of New York not long after the WTC attacks. He had quite a low opinion of Rudolph Giulianni and George Bush even then.
My gut feeling is the Hilary Clinton would stand a far better chance of election. I think a lot voters in the south would remove body parts before voting for a black candidate, however qualified.
Personally I would love to see Hillary as President with Barrack Obama as Vice. Hillary already has the experience and background but lacks the presentation and panache of Barrack Obama. I think Barrack Obama, one day, will make a fine President of the United States but it is still a little too early for him.

The Americans may very well vote for Hillary Clinton. This will mean of course that the real power behind the throne may very well be Bill.
USA Inc is moving 'left' a bit, so there's a pretty good chance that Hillary could get elected.

Both Obama and Hillary have a very stong, loyal following. However, both also have a great lack of experience in politics.
Hillary seems to me to be a quick learner and has earned high marks in the Senate. However, her very liberal views work against her and if Obama stays slightly more to the moderate side of her, he has a better chance of getting more of the voters. It will be very interesting to see how these two run against each other for the Democrat nomination. The team of the two would be more than a match for whoever the Republicans could put up, but I think their own vanities will prevent that. I think they both will say and do things that will prevent one from having the other as a running mate. I think if either of them gets the nomination, they will deliberately pick a weak vice president (AKA Bush with Quail) so there will be no split of focus. The end result will be a weaker party ticket and the Republicans would have a chance of winning.

an african american has a better chance of being elected. many women (and quite a few men too) will not vote for a woman for president. most of the people who will not vote for an african american are from republican states, anyways, which have no desire to elect a democrat, regardless of race or sex.
this reply is assuming that you are referring to barack obama and hillary clinton.

I don't vote for a gender or race. I vote for the candidate, who they are, what they have done in the past, and what they currently stand for. I also look at how faithful they have been to what they have said they were going to do versus what they have done once in office.
I can, however, say, without a doubt, I will not vote either for Hillary or Obama based on their past votes and what they have campaigned for. They are both TOO liberal. They are both too quick to sway to the popular opinion. They are both too eager to do whatever it takes to "get the vote." After they are in, they have done what they wanted.
No way - I look for character, honesty, and a grounded moral lifestyle.

Obama's formal Muslim training and fundamental Christian alliances will keep him from winning a Presidential election. His passion comes across as zealotry. People won't buy that. And, Obama's concept of "unification" of the people in this nation are fascist in that ,oh sure, here we go again, we can all be one people as long as we all chose to live by someone's perfect one-and-only-correct-virtues. He may or may not actually represent that morbid kind of paradigm. But, he has sure come across that way, probably due to the way he plays footsies with fundamentalists. He may be getting cozy with them now, early in the game, to lock up their vote and get that block out of the way so that as he becomes more popular and more closely covered by the public eye, he won't have to be associated too much with fundamentals and fascist far-right Christians looking for another "saved" leader. But, that strategic distancing won't work this election. People are ready to puke over subjective, fundamental fascists who want to impose their "one -and -only -correct -path -to -goodness upon everyone else, Muslim or Evangelical. The issue of Evangelicals having reported in "Faith and Nation" that they advocate the violent overthrow of the U.S. government if their agenda is not made into legislation is not going to go away. Obama should be more selective about what anti-American slime he sleeps with.

I trust you one hundred% Abortion is homicide except that's to guard the existence of the mummy. Abortion isn't start administration! Why can no longer those women use start administration or have their tubes decrease & tied? yet an option decision for a unplanned being pregnant may be to grant the toddler up for adoption. there are a number of that decide for slightly one and might't have one using medical motives. i assume they do no longer decide for to could pass for the duration of the being pregnant yet i've got faith they did the deed, do the ultimate factor. many women who've an abortion remorseful approximately it later in existence. i understand some who've relatively some issues coping with it. usa is going down. that's a tragic time. it relatively is all i can declare.

Clinton has the advantage in that her name is better known and voters tend to go with the familiar (which is probably how Geo. W got elected) rather than a name that is hard to spell. It will be an interesting contest.

Personally NO!
With Hillary she sold her personal ethics to Bill to save her political career; I see her as Jane Fonda cleaned up a bit. She knew that a divorce would alienate many of Bill's supporters and she just sucked it up for the CASH that would follow. In her time as a Senator she has really done NOTHING except talk about what she is "GOING" to DO; what has she accomplished of any concern to any of us?
My concern about a Black person as President kind of hangs on history. If I look far enough back in my heritage I can find someone that was abused by someone and I sure didn't sue the government for compensation. At the time of slavery, it was just the way that it was. 200 years from now are people going to sue because they were "forced" to work at Taco Bell because they had no other skills?
To achieve his place in life, I don't think that Barack was EVER Black other than the color of his skin. You can bet your "donkey" that he will play the "color card" to get the BLACK vote, but I seriously doubt that he has EVER lived that UGLY life. I simply see him as reverse RACISM with many BLACK people seeing him as the second coming of Martin Luther King. Compare the two and see what matches.
The PRESIDENT is the LEADER of ALL US CITIZENS without consideration of race, color, creed or religion. I just do not think either of them are up to the task because of their hidden agendas.
The demographics typically show that Democratic BLIND voters are looking for HELP. Either for new welfare programs or assistance in some form. It is also proven that they choose not to step up and take control of their own destiny; they have just never left home where mommy and daddy took care of them. They want that to continue with the government taking over as "mommy and daddy". This is very typical of the "ENTITLED GENERATION", DAMN what a handle to live with for the rest of your life!

Well, if they don't, they should be ashamed. What difference does it make it the person is black or white or green? And what possible difference can it make whether it is a woman or man. Grow up America, put away some of your sad old bias's and vote for who you think is best for the country.
It makes me angry to think that someone would not vote for Hilary or Condi because they are female.. or Obama because he is black. That is so, so stupid!
