No not all birth control contraceptives cause you to gain weight. I used the Nuva Ring as well as the patch. I didn't gain weight with either one. In fact, I actually lost a little bit of weight(was only like 5 or 6 pounds).
Also there are some pills on the market today as well, that won't make you gain weight. I think the Yasmin is one of them.
I would make a doctors appointment & talk to your doctor about which contraceptives would be best for you.
Good Luck!!

Birth control such as, Premarin [derrived from pregnant mare's urine], Estratest, etc... do. They are synthetic hormones, synthetic hormaones cause weight gain.
HOWEVER ... All Natural ones do not. I take herbal/plant derrived hormones, and I do not gain weight from them. Also if you take hormones, you should also use Pregesterone Cream. This is something many doctors do not even discuss with their patients. However not only do women & men's bodies produce this hormone, they NEED it for several things. Bone, Joint, Muscle, Aches & Pains, and Mood, to name only a few. Progestrone creams are applied daily to the soft parts of the body, and work very quickly. Progesterone is ALSO one of the LEADING hormones one needs for a good labido [sex drive]. Men with impotency problems use this to help their sex drive. It is a WONDERFUL hormone, and is not expensive.
If you or your mate are on synthetic hormones, I suggest you switch to Natural ones, with the addition of Progesterone Cream for the both of you. I have actually heard where progesterone cream has made some people feel sexually youthful again, even those who are senior citizens.

No...but a few pounds gained while on birth control is a lot easier to take care of than an un-wanted pregnancy.
